The children's author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions towards young women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
