FC Barcelona Set to Play First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
